ICP

Statement of Accessibility and Inclusion

ICP is committed to offering space and programs that are accessible to all audiences. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are values that are integral to offering an open forum for dialogue around photography and visual culture that is open to all. Through this lens, we hope to engage, educate, and inspire our visitors, students, and community at large.

General

In commitment to increased safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of our accessibility programming has been temporarily suspended. Check back here for updated information.

Caregivers of visitors with disabilities will be admitted for free. For a full list of admissions information, see icp.org/visit.

Wheelchairs

ICP and its programs are accessible to people using both manual and electric wheelchairs. The museum, school, and lobby are all wheelchair accessible. Two wheelchairs are available free of charge—please inquire at the Admissions desk in the lobby. Wheelchairs are sanitized after each use.

All bathrooms at ICP are wheelchair accessible.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at ICP. Pets are not permitted.

Audio Guides

ICP offers accessible audio guides for all exhibition texts. Translations and transcripts available in multiple languages.

Download Gesso’s app for iPhone or Android to listen or visit icp.org/audio.

ICP has a limited number of iPads on site with headphones available for those not able to access the app through a personal device. Guests can call ahead to reserve a set or can visit the visitor experience desk to reserve.

Closed Captions

Live closed captions are available at our online public programs through Zoom.

Assistive Listening Systems are available upon request. Email programs@icp.org to inquire for use during a public program.

Exhibition Materials

Accessibility content which are audio translations and transcripts of the exhibition text, can be accessed online at icp.org/audio or through the Gesso app.

Click on the audio content and then click on the page icon in the right hand corner of the page. A transcript of the episode will be visible, if provided.

Chinese and Spanish exhibition texts are available on exhibition pages: Gillian Laub: Family Matters, Diana Markosian: Santa Barbara, INWARD: Reflections on Interiority.

Group Tours

Guided and self-guided tours for educators, as well as free exhibition tours, are temporarily suspended due to increased safety precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about offerings and online educational resources.

Sign-Language Interpretation

ICP’s American Sign Language tours—designed for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing—are temporarily suspended due to increased safety precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Restrooms

ICP supports all identities and expressions. Please use the restroom you prefer. All gender restrooms are available on the second and third floors.
