ICP Lab: Emergency Readings for Queering the Collection

Nina Berman: An Autobiography of Miss Wish

Photographer Nina Berman discusses An Autobiography of Miss Wish, a project 25 years in the making that tells the story of a sex trafficking and child pornography survivor through multiple narrative elements, including the protagonist’s vast personal archive. Part of Reimagining the Image.
John Suler on Photography, Psychology, and Henri Cartier-Bresson

Professor John Suler discusses his research on Henri Cartier-Bresson and his own theory of photographic psychology, which offers a means for exploring how people create, share, and react to images in the age of cyberspace and digital photography.

Scholar Maria Elena Buszek discusses the history of gendered hierarchies in visual media with photographers Patricia Silva, an ICP-Bard MFA alum, and Endia Beal.
Dismantling the Gaze: Reading through Multiply, Identify, Her

This panel discussion, featuring artists Leah Schrager and Rafia Santana, considers artistic strategies that subvert and disrupt gendered assumptions, drawing on Schrager and Santana’s own work as well as themes in the ICP Museum exhibition Multiply, Identify, Her.

In concert with the ICP Museum exhibition Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Decisive Moment, Anthology Film Archives presents this extensive series highlighting the legendary photographer’s various entanglements with the cinema.
